The SouthShore Regional Library will begin renovations on June 1, 2026, with an anticipated completion date of Summer 2027.
The renovations include:
- A separate and enclosed children's library featuring an Early Learning Hive for tactile play.
- Additional study rooms and meeting spaces of varying sizes.
- Updated individual restrooms.
- All new furniture.
- New shelving with a reduced height to increase natural light and sightlines.
- New flooring throughout.
While we undergo these exciting renovations to enhance your library experience, some services and amenities will be temporarily impacted. In the second phase, these include:
- The Children's Room has reopened in a newly enclosed and renovated space.
- Curbside pick-up of holds will be available beginning September 22.
- A selection of the Adult Collection has been moved to the Community Room with limited seating.
- Internet access and all tech services (printing, copying, faxing, scanning) are available in the Computer Lab with limited seating.
- The Friends of the Library bookstore will reopen and resume accepting donations soon; please stay tuned for a specific date.
The following will be unavailable during this phase:
- Genealogy Research Materials and Computers
- Meeting spaces
- Recording Studio
- Vending Machines
- Programs (Events & Classes), including Early Literacy
- We encourage you to visit the Ruskin Branch Library and the Riverview Public Library for programs during this period. Our staff at these locations will be delighted to assist you.
